By incorporating HID proximity or iCLASS® technology into residential and business alarm systems, the same card that is used for building entry can now be used to arm and disarm alarm panels, eliminating the need to use a keypad.

  • Use of a contactless credential can reduce false alarms by 25 to 30 percent by eliminating the need for users to enter a PIN number?  User error, such as incorrectly entered PINs, causes 40 to 60 percent of false alarms.
  • Proximity or iCLASS technology-enabled keypads allow users to restrict the times when a card can be used to arm / disarm the system.  Persons can gain access only when authorized, further increasing security.
