Well-regarded for ease-of-use, easy installation and exceptional driver stability, OMNIKEY contact and contactless readers currently available on the market have been tested and are compatible with the new operating system.

In anticipation of the new Windows software platform, HID Global product engineers began development, testing and implementation of software and products to support Windows 7 earlier this year. Based on affirmative testing results, developers provided positive feedback on ease-of-use, straightforward installation and driver stability. In April 2009, the first reader drivers were WHQL-certified for use with Windows 7, ensuring support for customers using USB-connected smart card readers. PC users who use OMNIKEY readers for authentication or other applications can rely on the readers for continued performance with the new operating system.
