As a Business Development Manager in Business Development Department, you will be responsible for business development activities in support of HID’s Extended Access Technologies BA. These include working with partners and customers to develop new business models, license HID IP, and in support of EAT BA innovation-related activities. You will also be responsible for developing new business based on new and emerging strategies for HID. Activities include evaluating business opportunities, establishing relationships with potential partners, defining new business models and licensing of HID IP. This position is required a self-starting, high performing and well-rounded candidate with personal initiative and drive to excel in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.

 

What you will be doing

Business Development Activities

  • Drives strategic initiatives (new bio modalities such as facial)
  • Establishing relationships with partners and potential licensees
  • Evaluating risk/reward of relationships when there is both upside and downsides of engaging
  • Works with internal departments to develop new technologies and processes to support initiatives
  • Works with Marcom and PM to promote new business initiatives as appropriate
  • Non-standard business opportunities
  • Evaluates new business opportunities outside of traditional models
  • Redirect to standard sales channels when appropriate
  • Bring in other HID and ASSA ABLOY entities as appropriate
  • Shepard promising opportunities within HID to ensure they are picked up or declined as appropriate

Licensing Activities (e.g. Seos on Wearables)

  • Works with Legal team to create IP baskets and associated documents
  • Works with other Business Areas to achieve cross-BA product sales
  • Works with sales teams to license HID IP and other non-standard technology assets
  • Includes evaluating business merits of opportunities and which, if any, IP licenses are appropriate, and under what conditions
  • Works with Legal team to develop new agreements as required
  • Merging & Acquisition
  • Identify potential acquisition candidates in line with the EAT BA strategy to speed up the revenue growth
  • Assess acquisition candidates

 

What we are looking for

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in a business or technical field or work experience equivalent
  • Experience in high tech industry where user authentication is required
  • Familiar CRM tools and analysis such as Salesforce.com beneficial
