The IdenTrust Controller will be responsible for deliverables critical to the IdenTrust General Ledger accuracy, integrity, and financial close through applying accounting principles. Areas of monthly accounting responsibility will include AR, collections, accruals, prepaid expenses, compensation, and benefits. This role will consolidate two operating entities, generate financial statements and prepare inputs for the management reporting system.

Must be a good communicator and able to interact well with colleagues in the Finance department and personnel from other departments in order to gain proper understanding of operating transactions and financial statement components. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including the monthly accounting close and financial statement preparation cycle, tax reporting and conversion of IdenTrust financials into HID formats.

The successful candidate will be an experienced accountant and will report to the Identity Access Management Solutions (IAMS) Business Unit Controller. Candidate should be able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong collaborator skills are critical to success. Candidate must possess a strong desire to learn, grow, and develop their skills while providing enhancement to the current accounting function.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage and execute the month-end close process including journal entries
  • Maintain the general ledger on Epicor including all sub-ledgers as well as system reports
  • Own and manage end-to-end prepaid expenses, its amortization and roll-forward
  • Compensation and benefits expense accounting; including recording and validating the accuracy of payroll, benefits and contract labor related costs
  • Other accounting areas to support the monthly entity close
  • Customer collections and AR
  • Accurate recording of Cash receipts and its reconciliation
  • Reconciliations of bank accounts
  • Lease accounting and Insurance allocation
  • Enter reporting data into HID management reporting system (HFM)
  • Sales and use tax:  approve tax liability worksheets in Avalara system
  • Income and property tax reporting
  • Maintain required business licenses
  • 1099 form distribution
  • Prepare fluctuation analyses
  • Implement and document internal controls and procedures
  • Ad-hoc reporting

Education and/or Experience         

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 7 years of related work experience preferred
  • Experience with accounting systems specifically knowledge of Epicor Accounting System
  • Experience in database management or producing reports, or in the use of automated systems
  • Experience working with basic principles in accounting or in analyzing financial figures
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in work product
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in MS Office, specifically in Excel
  • Decisive project management skills with the ability to plan and execute accordingly

Language Skills                   

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.                       

Computer Skills     

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
  • User of Epicor accounting system
  • Possible additional familiarity with Oracle accounting system
