# Technical Sales Engineer

As our Field Application Engineer for AMERICAS, you will support Extended Access Business Area | Pre Sales and Technical Support Team  success by:

  • Having responsibility for Professional Service, Pre-Sales, and post-sales support to the EAT sales team as well as to our partners and end-customers.
  • Develop and foster critical relationships with partners and customers to build long-term partnerships. During the pre-sales phase he or she will explain HID technology, demonstrate technical capabilities, perform trainings, and analyze customer environments to identify customer needs.
  • Supporting the integration of our products into 3rd party applications and systems.
  • Developing an appropriate integration design at this stage is key.
  • Work closely with our tech support and engineering team to analyze and solve technical issues.
  • Prepare documentation for specialized seminars, application notes, and technical papers
  • Provide application assistance for all products, including technical support of relevant technology
  • Select/screen inquiries for new product designs based on technical merit, current product offering, sales potential, and technology trends
  • Track new technologies and identify potential products/applications
  • On-site support to customers, e.g., trouble shooting, training, Q&A etc.
  • Provide follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications
  • Investigate and analyze customer application problems on delivered products to determine problems and any potential liability
  • Feedback appropriateness of fit of products to customer's need to marketing and engineering team
  • Responsible for identifying and clarifying any technical issues related to new or exiting products, and clearly communicate findings to the business unit product lines

 

Who you are as a Team Player:

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Willingness to ‘roll up sleeves’ and dive deep into tactical work when necessary.

 

Your Education and Experience include:           

  • BA/BS degree in a technical subject, minimum 5 years and preferably 10 years of experience within the smart card / RFID industry
  • Knowledge of physical access control and the security industry desirable.
  • Knowledge in multiple vertical markets – e.g., Healthcare, government etc. is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of contactless RFID credentials, readers, and door controller products desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience of mobile implementations desirable.
  • Must possess a minimum of five years of experience in technical service and technical support in the smart card / RFID industry
  • Must have strong written and verbal skills with the ability to lead presentations both internally and externally.
  • Capable of establishing credibility with sales force and customers
  • Minimum regional experience or global experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent telephone/interpersonal/communication skills 
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills a must

 

Computer Skills    

  • Advanced understanding with client and server operating systems, such as Windows 7, 8, 10, Server 2003, 2008, 2012, Linux, and Mac
  • Profound knowledge in at least one programming language (Java, C++, C#)
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus

 

Work Requirement

  • Travel and fieldwork including international travel will be required; therefore, employee must possess or can acquire valid travel authorization. Up to 40% travel required.
