The Global Supply Chain Planner will interlock all key phases of the supply chain to include forecast, inventory, and fulfillment; resulting in a seamless sales motion while providing efficient and comprehensive processes for large orders, variable lead times, forecast planning, distribution, transition management, and E&O governance.    Key objectives of the position are to improve supply chain performance, optimize inventory levels and fill rates across the HID Global network to ensure service level targets are met, and provide an uninterrupted flow of materials for assigned products and locations while optimizing total supply chain costs and fulfillment targets.   Key to this role is the ability to analyze and model various demand/supply scenarios using available data and key assumptions as well as resolving demand/supply/inventory issues for purchased products in collaboration with customer service, supply chain, operations, sales, marketing and finance.   This position requires that the individual possess a strong understanding of the procurement and planning processes and is capable of troubleshooting process failures and drive continuous improvement and ability to thrive in a matrixed organization.   Additional requirements include the ability to both think strategically and execute tactically, a persistent attention to detail, and a high level of comfort presenting to senior management.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports the development and implementation of short and long term supply chain strategies that address capacity issues, production location decisions and material planning challenges in support of business growth.
  • Responsible for managing the excess (overstock) and obsolete process for assigned products Monitors key performance indicators, analyzes performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives and identify and communicate obsolescence reserve requirements.
  • Provides risk management and mitigation on all identified delivery risks by working with the supply chain management team, strategic sourcing, global business units, and senior executives
  • Drives continuous improvement philosophy and approach to problem solving and process improvement.
  • Analyze forecasted demand and inventory to develop and manage monthly supply plans.   Evaluate risks, plan and implement contingency plans to mitigate.
  • Collaborates with broader SM&FO organization to establish and reduce supplier lead-time within designated operating parameters relating to forecast, procurement cadence and logistics consolidations.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate target stock levels, safety stock, and surge stock levels using Oracle and statistical inventory management tools and techniques
  • Communicate forecasts to strategic suppliers on a monthly basis. 
  • Build scenario plans based on new business opportunities, potential demand changes, and critical product transitions.
  • Partner with Supply Management and Fulfillment Operations (SM&FO) team to ensure process, communications, and governance alignment regarding load plan, capacity plan, and forecast supportability while integrating forecast parameters into lead-time and on-time shipment performance management.
  • Support management and resolution of new product industrialization issues through collaboration, effective communication, and thoughtful application of resources.
  • Manages and resolves short-term supply chain disruptions through collaboration, planning, scenario analysis, and risk mitigation management.
  • Develops and implements process improvement and continuous improvement activities with regards to risk minimization
  • Supports global fulfillment enablement and industrialization center of excellence to drive standard processes, practices, and tool utilization.
  • Collaborates with operations, planning and procurement teams to phase in new products to each fulfillment center in a manner that aligns with supply chain strategy, stocking methods, and ensures standard tool, process and tool usage.
  • Tracks and analyzes forecast accuracy metrics and measurements to determine and minimize root causes of supply chain error.
  • Builds rapport and credibility with colleagues by responding with consistency in situations that require honesty and candor.
  • Collaborate with appropriate Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service personnel to meet customer needs with available capacity.

Education and/or Experience          

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years related work experience 
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Strong Supply Chain Management and Supply Chain Planning experience

Language Skills                   

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and interpret Bills of Material.                   

Computer Skills     

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
  • Experienced in using various planning systems (Oracle, Steelwedge, E2Open, etc…)
  • Familiarity with Oracle is a plus
