As we continue to evolve our continuous improvement culture within a Lean Agile framework, we are seeking the This new position within HID Global reports into the Global Compliance Engineering team and is necessary to meet the sales growth of HID Global products worldwide and the increasing demands of global certifications.  We seek a skilled global certification regulatory engineer with extraordinary background and understanding of obtaining global certifications for radio devices for new and existing RFID products.

HID Global is seeking skilled global certification RF regulatory engineers with an extraordinary understanding of the certification process for North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern regions, as they relate to radio devices operating within the LF, HF, UHF and Microwave frequency bands.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • The primary objective for this position is to support engineering and the compliance team members, in regards to the technical file preparation for many country submittals around the globe.  Understanding of what is required for agency submittals is essential to the successful integration of this individual.
  • Working closely with testing agencies is also a large part of the daily responsibilities, including the projection of timelines to achieve certificates, updates to Project Management, and expense control.
  • The secondary objective for this position is centered around emissions and susceptibility testing, data acquisition and processing, and test report generation.  Compliance is governed by regulatory requirements for radio devices, ranging from Low Frequency to Microwave.  Candidates with RF design experience, direct global certification and test agency experience will be considered.
  • Perform regulatory EMC and radio compliance testing including, preliminary measurements within a GTEM Chamber for an entire product line. Two years of experience in radio device and information technology equipment desired.
  • Interface with project teams on a regular basis to ensure new designs will meet the requirements for global regions for both ITE and Radio equipment.
  • Assist in product Safety evaluations and submittal preparations as necessary, and UL File maintenance.

Education and/or Experience    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or other Technical degree required.
  • 5 years of global regulatory certification and technical experience
  • Knowledge of standards and regional requirements is required.
  • Experience with lab test equipment including receivers, spectrum analyzers, generators, amplifiers and antennas
  • Electromagnetics: The candidate must have a strong desire to understand regulatory compliance from a test, design and global point of view.  This individual must be a self-starter and while training will be available, the ideal candidate must have the ability to establish a sound initial assessment of what is required and then have the confidence to ask questions as necessary.  The ideal candidate will possess:
  • The desire to be team player who will work with regulatory agencies, laboratories, the compliance team, management, customers, and engineering.
  • The ability to influence the development of new or changed product designs.

(Other regional regularity and regional requirements may be required)

  • Previous experience within the Radio Equipment Directives is preferred but not required.

Language Skills                   

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.              

Computer Skills     

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, MSOffice, TILE EMC Measurement Software, etc.
