What you will be doing

HID is a dynamic and fast paced organization, with many possibilities to make a difference and add value. As a Senior Technical Writer will be responsible for creating a variety or product documentation, including user manuals, quick start guides, installation guides, application/release notes, and online help. Responsible for all aspects of the document lifecycle, from creation, reviews, approval and production release into the company’s Agile PLM document control system.

You will be working across multiple departments so communication is key to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and to ensure regular updates on projects are provided to stakeholders.

The successful individual will be a self-starter and be able to work independently to gather technical information from a variety of resources including Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), product usage, internal Wiki and specifications to understand the technology and associated tools. The successful candidate must be able to simplify complex concepts in user documentation to create an overall positive customer experience.

What we are looking for

A degree qualified self-motivating individual who thrives in producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. You will be a valued technical expert, friendly, have a genuine interest in the business.

You will have a clearly defined role, with high standards for quality and accuracy. You will be efficient in completing tasks from start to finish and be comfortable making decisions in your area of speciality.

To succeed in this role you should have experience of creating technical documentation, strong organisational skills and have a great team ethic. A knowledge of networked products, access control, card printers and RFID would be advantageous.

This is an office based role with up to 10% travel (incl. International travel) and fieldwork required.
