As a Senior Solutions Engineer in Bid, Commercial and Business Solutions Department,  you will be part of a specialist pre-sales team which supports the sales cycle for HID’s citizen identity products and solutions.  The role is responsible for understanding customer problems and requirements, and identifying potential technical solutions using our existing hardware and software offerings.  The role will also include some professional services and customization engagements. 


What you will be doing

  • Act as the solution owner for an opportunity and work with other functional teams, including Product Management, Services and Engineering to architect, build, validate and document industry-leading identity solutions using HID’s biometric, mobile and digital offerings..
  • Drive revenue and support sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and evangelizing HID's products and solutions to existing and prospective customers.
  • Assess project requirements and influence solution design and decision-making processes to help drive robust, advanced solutions, repeatable by HID Field implementation teams on customer sites.
  • Conduct technical demonstrations to showcase HID technology and products
  • Advise customers by identifying their needs, problems and potential tailoring of HID offerings to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide technical consulting using best-practice design and deployment techniques for solutions to HID Sales, Partners and Customers.
  • Serve as the pre/post-sales technical liaison between the Customer’s technical contact, Sales, and Operations.
  • Provide technical consultation and writing, as part of the response team on RFI and RFP.
  • Act as the key technical contact for partners and suppliers working with HID on an opportunity.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Provide technical systems support to the Sales organization, including technical demonstrations and facilitating the use of demonstration equipment.
  • Liaise with Product management, and engineering teams to define solutions that meet the specific customer requirements and provide customer solutions.
  • Be informed about relevant basic and specific business standards, guidelines processes and laws.
  • Attend trade shows, team and internal meetings as required.


What we are looking for

Business Experience

  • Minimum 8-year technical experience on technical sales delivering solution requirements definition, design and problem resolution
  • Experience with Statement of Works and Technical Proposals
  • Experience and understanding of software solutions and professional services offerings
  • Experience working in collaboration between sales, product and engineering teams
  • Experience with fingerprint biometrics solutions is desired, but not required
  • Experience with mobile and digital identity solutions and technologies is desirable
  • Able to manage technical solutions by providing basic project management status, meeting minutes, action items and follow ups
  • Experience working in a technical pre-sales or consultancy environment
  • Experience with tender processes for government customers is desirable
  • Experience in secure, enterprise-level solutions through the lifecycle covering analysis, design, engineering and deployment


Technical Skills     

  • Excellent Requirements Analysis, Software Requirements gathering using industry standard methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, mobile Android
  • Additional Knowledge of the following software would be an advantage:
    • Salesforce
    • SharePoint
    • Confluence
  • Basic technical understanding/knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Windows Server platforms. Practical/basic understanding of Networking architectures, routers, hubs, and transmission protocols such as (TCP/IP, FTP, NFS, SMTP).
  • Good understanding of Cloud computing or services which refer to software, platforms and infrastructure that are sold "as a service"
  • Good understanding of Encryption standards (VPN/TLS/SSL), FIPS 140-2 Standards.
  • Good understanding of Relational Database offerings and customer usage such as Microsoft SQL, My SQL.
  • Understanding of computer networking for an Enterprise Solution.

  • Problem solving, with a focus on selling to customer needs.
  • Product knowledge and understanding of the Product Development lifecycle.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Able to organize and manage numerous tasks and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team


Language Skills                   

  • Excellent written and spoken English required.
  • Additional languages relevant to the region are desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.


Qualifications and education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields of computer information system is required
  • Master’s degree desirable, not required , and Technical Certifications is a plus
