Software and Test Engineer Intern  (HID)

PACS Team

 

HID Global is currently looking for an intern to join our Physical Access Control (PACS) Team and be part of our successful journey. During your internship you will work with our Engineers and get the opportunity to learn from the highly qualified staff. We expect you to support our verification engineers with all aspects of testing and quality control. As part of the team, you will contribute to work required to successfully release a product, including assistance in: test automation, acceptance tests development, reporting and investigating bugs, writing test documentation, running pre-release testing, and doing performance measurements in our lab. We expect you to share our agile values, be motivated, focused, take initiative, and remain eager to learn. You will work as part of a team and independently. 

 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Design and build automated test suites, with robotic arm, stepper motors, micro computers 
  • Perform & design functional tests for electronic security devices  
  • Perform & design exploratory tests and define test scenarios for test automation purposes  
  • Support in test execution and test results analysis  
  • Create project documentation and document performed tests  
  • Learn how to create a test automation including testing environments: C#/.NET 
  • Learn lab equipment and measurement methodology in test automation  
  • Learn embedded environment : different MCUs, peripherals, use cases  
  • Work with lab equipment and products based on embedded systems  

 

Requirements 

  • Active student status 
  • Availability to work minimum 20h per week, for at least 14 weeks  
  • Very good English, both written and spoken - because you'll be working in a multinational environment 

 

Desired Skills & Experience 

  • Knowledge of any Object Oriented Programing (C# preferred) 
  • Electronics knowledge 
  • Ability to use measurement equipment like oscilloscopes, digital analyzers, voltmeters 
  • Readiness to acquire knowledge
