As a Head of Pre-sales North APAC in Pre-Sales department you will lead the North Asia Pacific PACS Pre-sales team.  The HID Pre-Sales team possesses extensive experience in advising customers throughout their Identity Assurance project implementations. The role covers North Asia Pacific region, hence extensive travel will be required.  All Pre-Sales engineers are trained on HID technology as well as third party technology where required. The Pre-Sales department is tightly integrated with the HID product roadmap definition procedure and collaborates closely with other technology parties to aid in achieving their customer’s goals.


What you will be doing:

The Pre-Sales department provides customers with services such as:

  • Product presentations
  • Product demonstrations in virtual and portable environments
  • Technical tender responses and other documentation
  • Technology assessments and advice
  • Discovery Workshops and PoC Deployments 


Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage the Pre-Sales Team
  • Selection and recruitment of suitable Pre-Sales personnel
  • Day to day management of Pre-Sales personnel including time management, assessment, training and disciplinary issues.
  • Ensure that Sales, Product Management and Development receive such support as they request.
  • Work with Product Management and Marketing to help define/refine sales messages and ensure sales packages are developed and messages communicated to sales team
  • Ensure that the Pre-Sales resources evolve in line with the Marketing Message and Sales Teams stated requirements.
  • Ensure that all pre-sales personnel including the Pre-Sales Leader maintain and develop the following skills.

  • Duties of all Pre-Sales personnel including the Pre-Sales Leader.
    • Production of responses to Requests for Information and Requests for Pricing (RFI and RFP)
    • Assistance in Development of Industry specific and technical whitepapers
    • Work with Sales Personnel to provide product, business and technical knowledge in support of pre-sales activities.
    • Liaison with Product Managers and Development to understand details of product direction and design and communicate information back to sales organization.
    • Responsible for staying abreast of product roadmap as well as understanding the scenarios, features and functions within each of the products and how these are applied to address business and technical problems. This includes interacting with Product Management and Development on an on-going basis to stay current.
    • Responsible for understanding business and technical problems addressed by the products including key regulations, business drivers, evolving business needs, etc.
    • Attendance at conferences and working with Subject Matter Experts, and research to stay on top of changes in business issues/requirements/regulations/Technology and understand where the market is going.
    • Responsible for staying current on competitive analyses and understanding differentiators between the company and its competitors.
    • Responsible for preparing for meetings and tailoring communications to address business needs of potential clients as part of the pre-sales process.
    • Responsible for providing feedback from the market to Product Management and Development regarding products including coordinating gaps between product functionality and market/customer demands.
    • Responsible for working with Product Management to develop and deliver training on business problems, products, and messages for new pre-Sales team members.
    • Coordinate requirements for proofs of concept with Product Management/Product Development
    • In conjunction with Sales Personnel, develop and conduct transition briefing - communicate commitments, expectations, customer organization, etc.
    • Resolve relevant customer tech support issues for the relevant product line using the global case management system (SalesForce)
    • Adhere to case management policy at all times

Education and/or Experience             

  • University degree with emphasis on BS Computer Science, Electronic or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the security industry w/emphasis in physical and IT access control.
  • Regional experience is preferable
  • Verbal and written Chinese
