The Position:

We are looking for an experienced digital product designer to join our Access Control Systems team. The Sr. Product Designer will lead the design of the HID Origo cloud platform web and mobile app experience. The designer in this role will report to our Sr. Director of User Experience, immersed in exciting cutting-edge technology and a stimulating design thinking culture.

As a Sr. Product Designer on the Global Design Team, you will relentlessly advocate for the user, create elegant and simple experiences centered on users’ needs, help define our customer journeys and establish an inclusive design approach. You will lead the experience strategy of new products and services, be accountable for the design execution, negotiate design choices with leadership and stakeholders, and mentor junior designers as needed. The ideal candidate is fluent in design tools (such as Figma) and familiar with all phases of product design from ideation to development, including prototyping and iterative design.


Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Design simple and elegant experiences across multiple touch points
  • Independently reach design milestones in complex enterprise software projects
  • Guide the definition of user-centric product requirements
  • Integrate UX assets into their work (e.g., user journeys, personas, etc.)
  • Lead and/or participate in design thinking workshops and activities


What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate would have a BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc), Human-Computer Interactions (HCI) or related field, or equivalent work experience. They should also have 5+ years of experience in product designer role and at least 7 years of professional work experience.

You should also have a strong portfolio focused on user centric product design, as well as fluent in user experience best practices and trends. Strong experience within integrating user research feedback in their work, with agile tools and ceremonies. As well as experience working with design systems (e.g., Google Material Design)
