Technical Project Manager (REQ564)
Location: Basingstoke, UK
1. Summary
HID offers the broadest portfolio of highly secure, custom government-to-citizen Identity solutions for the ID card and Passport market. For more than 25 years, HID have been designing, developing and manufacturing secure credentials and/or their component parts for governments around the world. HID has managed worldwide over 40 ePassport and over 50 National ID/eID, driving licenses programs.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the technical aspects of such projects within the CID business unit. He/she is also responsible to interpret the technical and security requirements of the physical credential and develop product configuration in collaboration with R&D, Process, Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to meet the needs of the customer. It is the responsibility of the Project Manager to ensure HID produces the credential in accordance with the requirements of the customer.
• Duties and Responsibilities
This job description includes but is not limited to the tasks described in this document. If contractual relationships evolve, you may be affected, if necessary and for the company needs, to other tasks without however questioning the purpose described above.
• Lead technical part of customer project in close cooperation with supply chain, delivery team, R&D, product line, sales, QA. This includes but is not limited to:
o Evaluation of partners’ selection and management
o Qualification (Process, Product) internal and external
o Risks’ assessment: IP, technical risks.
o Global project ownership
o Define, qualify and execute the industrials processes associated to passport/card and passport/card components.
o Establish all the projects documentation and technical specifications associated to these products and projects.
o Manage live projects in terms of tasks, planning, partners and supplier in coordination with other departments)
o Provide technical support (remote or on site) for all project steps (Internal, external partner and final customer)
o Lead knowledge transfer from HID to customer worldwide when necessary
• Lead prototyping/sample requests for Galway, Surabaya, Johor, Malta, Austin; working in close collaboration with prototyping cell in these factories
• Pre Sales support (customer needs evaluation, technical presentation, tender analyse, technical specifications, on site visit etc..)
• Provide Pre sales Project Management activities such as: determine the customer requirements and develop specifications, planning, feasibility study, proof of concept, qualification, documentation, raw materials selection, with final proposal of a qualified product.

4. Qualifications

5. Education and/or Experience
Must have a bachelor’s degree of Science in materials/ electronic/ electro technical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have a minimum of 3 years engineering management experience, preferred exposure to access control technology and related products.
6. Skills
Language skills
Must be able to effectively communicate in the English language, verbally and in writing
Must be able to read and interpret technical specifications, tender, journals, proposals, etc.
Computer skills
Must be proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc
Must be proficient in Agile, Oracle or similar ERP system
Must be proficient in project management software, Gantt project, or equivalent
Would benefit if proficient in CAD software such as AutoCad.

Employee works primarily in an office environment, with in a well-ventilated area, and is exposed to moderate noise levels.
Part of the job is done in factory/laboratory environment
Frequent trips in Europe and abroad: estimate 30% of working time
8. Work Requirements
Must be legally eligible to work in Ireland/France/Malta/UK on security project.
Must have valid passport.
