Summary

As solution architect, you will be providing architectural strategy and vision across various value streams in the HID PACS Business Area. In particular, your focus area will be around the primary access control logic devices commonly known as controllers/control panels. Together with other solution architects, you will define the interaction between controllers and upstream host software, as well as downstream readers and door IO modules including credentials. Typical outputs include modular and reusable frameworks, technology stacks, data models, and specifications.

You will interact with engineering teams, product/program management teams, and stakeholders to provide technical alignment around portfolio level solutions.

 

What you will be doing

  • Collaborate with other solutions architects to ensure subsystems and components fit into the overall vision and strategy of a holistic ecosystem of products in the HID PACS portfolio.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, end-users, and leadership teams to understand requirements and solution context.
  • Participate and contribute in planning events, workshops, and system demonstrations.
  • Design and promote technology stacks that maximize reusability and seamless integration between products and services.
  • Identify and reduce inter-team dependencies through carefully considered technology stacks and Application Program Interfaces
  • Drive technical alignment between research and product engineering teams in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Co-ordinate and support technology implementations between teams and products or services.
  • Participate and provide guidance in design reviews with engineering teams.
  • Drive and support continuous improvement and other agile practices.
  • Create and promote best engineering practices during development lifecycles

 

What we are looking for

  • Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering
  • Ten years professional experience in support of product development
  • Demonstratable embedded development experience, with a focus on ARM Linux operatings systems
  • Demonstratable experience in the creation of specifications for communications, data persistence layers, service orientated architectures, and other technology stack building blocks.
  • Good presenting and communication skills, good judgment, analytical ability.
  • Experience in building and maintaining good working relationships with both external and internal parties
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of end to end PACS systems
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software and networks
  • Ability to work on complex tasks without technical guidance
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices
  • Experience in the physical access control sector would be advantageous.
