Solution

The TotGuard Infant Security Solution is a state-of-the-art infant security system providing wearable tags that are expertly designed to be light, comfortable, and effective. With a wide range of infant tags that can be paired with our unique Mother tag, the system can raise alerts if infants are matched with the wrong parent. In addition to providing the real-time location of patients, facility staff are immediately notified if patients unexpectedly move outside of secured areas. The solution provides a wide range of door security and control options, allowing for the monitoring of babies, other pediatric patients, and staff in one innovative system.

How It Works

Infant and pediatric patients are assigned an active RFID tag — attached to umbilicals, or wearable bands that easily adjust to the growth of newborns and fussy toddlers. Parents can be assigned a mother tag that the system uses to generate an alarm if an infant is given to the wrong parent. Tagged patients are instantly detected at exit doors, stairwells, and elevators, and their presence can be configured to activate alarms and secure doors. The solution uses GuardRFID infrastructure hardware and AllGuard® enterprise software to identify tags, manage tag rules, activate alarms, and control doors.
