The TSL 2128L RAIN Reader, designed and developed by TSL (a part of HID), uses a high-gain linear antenna to provide exceptional read ranges of up to 15 m (49 ft), making it an ideal solution for applications requiring long-range or high tag density. The linear antenna ensures optimal scanning performance on both the front and sides of the antenna.

For optimal performance, tag orientation is critical when using a linear antenna: if the tag is not aligned with the antenna's polarization, the read range will be significantly reduced. For use cases where tag orientation can be controlled, the 2128L Reader provides the ideal portable RFID solution with outstanding read range performance.

This device offers in-reader tag de-duplication, capable of managing over 50,000 unique tags from more than 1 million reads. It can also store up to 250 million unique tags with date and time stamps for a powerful batch collection mode.

The 2128L features sophisticated user feedback and advanced search capabilities, offering a highly configurable and efficient tag search and management experience.

With the ePop-Loq® system, the 2128L allows for the safe connection and charging of external devices like enterprise handheld terminals. This system automatically separates in case of large impacts, such as drops.

Finally, the 2128L supports Bluetooth Classic, Bluetooth LE and iApp2 for flexible connectivity with Android and iOS devices, making integration with existing applications easier through powerful software development tools.
