HID Signo readers employ a multi-layered security approach with several advanced features. They store cryptographic keys on certified secure element hardware (EAL 5+), support OSDP Secure Channel Protocol for encrypted bidirectional communication and are SIA OSDP Verified through rigorous third-party testing. Signo readers also feature HID's Secure Identity Object (SIO) for trusted authentication and include velocity checking to protect against brute force attacks. These comprehensive protections make Signo ideal for high-security environments.
3. What’s the difference between multi-technology and single-technology readers?
Multi-technology readers can process multiple credential types, supporting both legacy proximity cards and modern smart cards. This flexibility enables phased security upgrades while maintaining support for existing credentials.
