HID® VAL100
We designed the VAL100 ticket validator for a variety of onboard public transportation Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems.
The device contains a proven multimedia ticket reader integrated with an open architecture Linux computer to create a mobile ticket validation solution when combined with third party software.
HID's VAL100 has been a valuable asset to Cubic's Umo mobility solution. Its capability to securely validate fare payment for multiple payment options has been instrumental in ensuring the swift and accurate deployment of our platform to transit agencies across North America. Thanks to our collaboration, we've been able to deliver a seamless mobility experience to the communities and agencies we serve. It's been a great partnership!
Brandy Bailey, Head of Programs, Umo, Cubic Transportation Systems
The multimedia ticket validator forms part of HID's ticket reader portfolio for mass transit. The device combines barcode and NFC/RFID reading functionality to provide a single point of presentation for tickets and travel passes – whether presented on a paper ticket, smartcard or mobile phone.
The VAL100, when fitted with the HID TripTick™ 220, is available with EMV Level 2 certification, allowing for applications where contactless payments are required. It offers PCI and SRED compliance for contactless payments using VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, JCB and Discover payment processors.
VAL100 has also obtained the ITxPT approval label, meaning the unit easily integrates with on-board devices and vehicle computers to help create a plug-and-play AFC environment. The open architecture design of the VAL100 enables it to integrate with any third party software.
The VAL100 has also successfully undergone a robust evaluation process to achieve Calypso standard compliance.
The HID VAL100 ticket validator enables Token Transit to provide the most comprehensive fare payment platform, offering unmatched flexibility for riders, operational ease for transit operators and invaluable data insights for agencies striving to enhance customer experience and boost ridership.
