Securing a Sustainable Future for the Security Industry and Beyond
Our Commitment
To us, sustainability is more than a buzzword. It’s a commitment.
That’s why we, in conjunction with ASSA ABLOY, are committed to science-based targets that will reduce our footprint and emissions. We are driving toward net zero emissions across our entire value chain by 2050, with an eye on halving emissions within our own operations by 2030.
Learn more about our goals and progress by reading the ASSA ABLOY Sustainability Report.
Our Products
Producing products efficiently and sustainably is key to our goals.
From printers to cards to readers and beyond, we are dedicated to developing better and more sustainable solutions that require fewer resources, use fewer consumables and create less waste. This is demonstrated by our certifications with GreenCircle to independently validate that our technology investments have been certified to use less energy and our packaging has been redesigned to use less material.
Our People
Saying we are committed is one thing. Acting upon it is another.
Our people are driving our sustainability agenda forward, including day-to-day actions within our facilities, finding ways to reduce our manufacturing footprint, and even reaching out into our communities to make the world a better place.
We are also proud to share that we are partners of the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.
Our Facilities
Sustainability begins within our own walls.
With a focus on energy use, water conservation and recycling, we are “walking the walk” when it comes to our sustainability commitments. From site-based activities to corporate-wide initiatives, all of our facilities and activities are green by design and through continuous improvement.
HID’s Sustainability Objectives
At HID, sustainability is at the core of our business practices. We embed economic, environmental, and social values into our organization's culture for long-term success. Our commitments encompass green building design, global best practices, and ISO 14001:2015 certification for all manufacturing facilities. Together, we drive connectivity and raise awareness for a sustainable future.
Introducing the HID Eco Card
Why bamboo? We love that it’s exceptionally fast growing and requires little agricultural intervention like fertilizer or pesticides, plus has low energy consumption and CO2 emissions during processing. Our customers also love that it reduces their plastic and consumables waste.
